How does it stay in place? My dad said that it just drives in place and it worked fine untill last night when I hit it while changing the oil filter now I can't get it in a soild place and it's leaking.

nevermind it wasn't my dipstick tube leaking it was my oil filter I was changing it in the dark last night and the gasket from the old filter was stuck to the block and I just put the new one on top of it. Goes to show you how good light is. But my dipstick tube is loose and I would like to know how it is supose to go in there still.

Theres a lower section that is driven into the block, then you have the upper tube with an oring that slides loosely into the lower section, then has a bolt that goes through a bracket brazed on the upper tube and secures it to the turbo

No bracket on NA's. I put some silicone sealer on mine, let it dry, been good for quite a few miles now. There is a "o" ring that seals it.
