How in the heck am I supposed to remove it? It's a 7mgte block from my '91 Supra. I don't see any nuts/bolts holding it down. I tried tapping on it with a hammer, but I was too afraid of damaging it so I did't continue. I'll see if my pics come up.

Here a pic of the tube that's located inside in the block.

I see a little hole at the base of the tube, but no kind of nut or fastner holding it down.

Here a pic of the tube that's outside the block (lower left hand corner).

Again, no kind of fastner holding it in place.

So do I just beat on this thing until it comes out?? How do you remove it? I need to take this off before I send my block to the machine shop. Any tips guys?

Hi,

I had that same problem when had to remove my dip stick tube. All you have to do is just pull it out of the block with pillars. The tube is not thread so you don't have to worry about threads. Twist, turn, and pul it out. Try it.

I used a small hammer and a piece of 2x4 to put on the part sticking out the bottom of the block... came right out.

That was my exact next idea. I just wanted to check with you guys before I did it to avoid any possible problems. So does it have any kind of gasket or washer in there to replace? I guess I can look when I take it out. Thanks guys.

Ok, I took my lazy ass out there and I was able to pop it loose and pull it through. It took me a while cause I also had to get that oil filter housing off too. I have to go to the store and buy a 24mm socket cause I didn't have one. Now it's ready to go to the machine shop. Thanks again.

Every one I've done just pulled out. Once the mounting bolt on the turbo is removed there's nothing holding it in there but an O ring. I suppose some could be corroded though.

just to confirm, there is no "receiver" piece in the block - it's just the block and the dipstick tube with a little O-ring right?
