so i was supposed to pick up a NA lsd from my friend but he sold it already so im just gonna weld my diff.

after i get the spiders welded am i going to have to reshim it and set the backlash when i put it back together or can i just keep track of my old shims??

i would just recheck the tolerances again to ensure everything is within specs... either way if you use the old shims or not... a diffs no fun if it locks up (in a bad way) cause we got lazy

I don't recommend welding a diff unless you're using it for drifting. They suck for daily driving. If you do, do it make sure you use atleast a 220 welder. I have built alot of Jeeps and welded a few diffs. The best way to make it really strong is throw chunks of metal in the open areas and weld the shit out of it.

if it's a true LSD ... shit just leave it alone.... shit if your gonna weld an LSD dif i'll trade you my NON-LSD for your LSD... you can weld that one up..... i'm serious... cause i want a LSD

nooo i dont have a LSD. And i know all the pros and cons of a welded diff. My supras not a full daily driver cause i got a truck that gets wayyyy better gas mileage.

And of course im welding my diff to drift...why else would i be welding it lol.
