I've been trying to do as much research on our diff as possible lately. I'm looking at any possibilities of upgrading the factory mk3 diff/case. I see that the mk4 diff gets a substantial strength increase by using a billet diff cover. Would something similar to this help the mk3 case?
I know the size of the gears is the largest draw back to this diff, but I'm looking at any avenue I can to try and beef up the case/diff itself. The car is making close to 1K HP now, and we are starting to prep it for the track. Looking for an 8 second pass, but I have my reservations that this diff will hold behind that kind of HP, and hard launches off the trans brake.
Hoping guys like IJ, will chime in with any suggestions.
