Good point! Is that timing problem with the stock AFM/Injectors or with the Lexus/550's?

in my experience with both and all variations of the setup...its CONSTANT...the only way around it is standalone or upgraded ECU such as the mines which has higher boost timing maps...

That's good to know. Thanks! I suppose it's obvious that Toyota wouldn't screw with the timing maps much beyond fuel cut.

I don't think it's a fuel cut because Hunt says it slugs at the top end... I think if it were FC, it would be more of a sudden jerk. I think he is holding boost up to a certain PSI and the pressure becomes great enough to exploit a weakness in the piping, thus creating a leak, which would explain the sluggish top end. Just my two cents.

Yeah his primary problem isn't fuel cut, It's just one of his problems that happens occasionally. As you know, hitting fuel cut early is a good sign of a boost leak. Which is a probable but not positive cause of his problems. He was asking about code 34 and we related that to fuel cut and that’s how we got off on that tangent. As for the sluggishness at high RPM, there is a good possibility that that is what is happening as he tries to push 10 PSI through his stock cat's. Those are going to create quite a restriction in the exhaust especially at those boost levels.

hmmm...i changed two clamps on the intercooler piping leading to the turbo. They weren't tightening very well, so i just replaced them. They would snap at a certain point so i made a trip to home depot. I believe this has given me a bit more power. I will have to mess with that elbow to see if maybe that is leaking too. I will have to start early to get that thing out, so i will probably start that on sunday. From what i can tell though it looked okay about a quarter of the way. I looked at the seam and it seamed intact. Ill check again this weekend. Thanks for all the imput guys.
