I got my current car from Tohuku Japan in October 2005.
Clearcoat was faded, seats ripped and mismatched wheels...

But a JZA70 BLMQZ in 6L9 nonetheless, ran great, exchange rate worked out to $700
Was about 4000 by the time i saw it. It is probably worth more than a new Camry and it doesn't even run right now LOL

Picked up my white 1989 Supra Turbo 5 speed w/ sport roof and white package with 50,500 miles for $12,000 (yes... that is $12K).

Daily drove this car while making mild upgrades over the next 10 years when it was retired from DD status. Now at nearly 13 years of ownership that works out to be an annual cost of ownership of $923 per year - basic maint and upgrades not included. With now over 186,000 miles that works out to be about $0.08 per mile - again not including basic maint, fuel, and upgrades.

I had to replace a clutch once. I had to replace the CPS. Everything else was basic maint.

bought 90t w/ rod knock for a 1,000. 2 yrs later it's done. Today marks the 4th day daily driving. The second night I got outa bed at 11:30 pm just to take it for a ride. Today I took a shortcut that took an extra hour.

I think the real question is how many hours have you put into repair !

1UZFE SWAP DUDE!!!
I got my 1989 turbo automatic t-top supra for 400$ from the tow yard because they couldn't get it started. lol the only thing that was wrong was that the fuel guage sender was stuck at 1/2 full and the tank was actually empty. Other than that within the first month of driving I replaced the valve cover gaskets, and the transmission because the covers were leaky, and the tranny was toasted. so I had to spend about 225$ to make the car roadworthey. definately the steal of the decade.

Picked up my 92 teal/shadow gray turbo targa M/T w/186k for $2800 about a year ago w/BHG. Drove it for a week before it was toast. Invested ~700 on a Felpro HG/upper gasket set and had her back on the road. Since then, put ~30k on her and the car (as well as the HG) are startin to show their age...kinda at a crossroads right now as to what the future will hold...

I would ask what you guys think, but I think I know the answer

I originally bought mine not running for 1200.. looks like crap but i didnt care mainly got it for the engine to put in my little toyota pick up. then after looking at it i was like hmm i kinda like this car. so far now during the rebuild i probably have close to 7k invested in it and it still looks like crap.. the engine is almost rebuilt, just waiting on the balancer to finish my stuff and assembly begins! next year i will work on getting it painted and lookin nice :]

89 with 93,000 miles, $7200. I have SOME of the receipts that total more then $15000 ($4000 for car) from the previous owner. From a head job, stopper hg, sp61, rims, paint, suspension, exhaust, IC piping, cooling system upgrades, TONS of oem parts replaced through out etc, etc... quite a list. I found a few things that dont exactly make me smile (exhaust studs stripped, loose cam cap bolt) but overall worse case a fresh oem rebuild for less then a grand and there wouldnt be much else to worry about as there isnt much of anything to repair or replace.

i think i have a good story behind mine. Kinda long but here it goes. I bought a 84 ford mustang for $100 and turned around and sold it for $500. With the $500 i bought 2 fc rx7s i parted one out for around $600(still have parts if you need fc parts) The other one i had to put a coil pack on ($35) and and traded it for a 1987 supra turbo.
