Speaking of longevity lol, when setting the calender on my 86.5 on the super computer the year only goes up to 07. Shows how long they expected it to be on the road lol.

Now onto the original intention of the thread. Now i know my engine was rebuilt in '01 because the PO gave me a stack of receipts, and I retorqued the head bolts and have done all routine maintenance including flushing my coolant system. I bench rebuilt a spare turbo I bought from a fellow supra guy in town and upped my boost to 9 PSI. I drove it to my aunties resort about 450 miles away, 85mph the whole way, and didn't have any problems at all. Drove it all the way back including about another 100 miles of detours and still fine. That was back in September and she`s still running strong! My car also has 307,500 miles on it :D

Side note: has anyone else had luck just taking their turbo apart, changing the oil seal and cleaning it up and it being fine?

Maybe Toyota discovered the flaw after they started production? But why not change afterwards.

They dont stop testing a car even after it hits production. They just take the camo off.

For any car pretty much that is a really low torque number. Maybe a typo lol. 5 is right next to 6.

I have yet to meet 1 supra owner or car that hasnt had a hg done in its time. #1 thing people think about with these cars.

All we got was supra and cressida too. Cressida wasnt a performance car and it only had ge's also.

Hello, you've met one. 19 years on original head gasket. Wonder, for how much longer....
