actualy, #3 went up to 135, all the rest were above 150 with a 1-2 psi varience.

Bobby's right, I just didnt write it down, and i have a bad memory... I was mainly paying attention to the 3rd cylinder...

Im gunna turn the boost up to 30 and see what happens... Wish me luck kids... :D:D:D

I wouldn't Jake you might hurt/damage parts you could sell off to finance the 700 Motor :(

*raises hands above head, makes a goofy face and screams*

I JUS' KEEDING!

On a serious note: Is it possible to pull out a piston with out taking the head off? Like, can you pull it from the bottom?

Jake, It definately sounds like a broken land. Are you using forged pistons? or just some aftermarket .020 over stock replacements?
The thing that sucks is that you will most likely have to hone the block, because the cracked ringland, or in my case, melted piston, will scuff the hell out of your block. It should clean up with a hone, but you'll probably gain some piston-bore clearance. Which is not a good thing. I would suggest going forged if you haven't already. And for heavens sake find out WHAT killed the ringland. I.E. how much boost, did an injector fail, did boost spike on pump gas, was your tune leaned out for some reason, etc... If you rebuild and then destroy it again, that's NO good.
Best of luck, weekend rebuilds suck...

Jake: I agree if it's just a broken Land a hone will clean it up easily!

If it's torched a piston as in my case it trashes the bore :(
(you were very lucky but then again maybe you didn't drive it 50 km's home ;) )

Jake, whats up, its Jake... :D:D:D

Jake I kick myself in the ass, because I NEVER did a compression check before... So for all I know, its been like this since the day I bought it... The car still runs strong, pulls like a mofo, even with the 2 middle pistons bein lower then the outter four... The reason I did the comp test is because I lost the boost reference on my HKS boost controller, and it caused my turbo to boost past 30psi... I dunno HOW high, because the needle stops at 30... So, as far as Im concerned, that was the down fall... So for now, Im just drivin around on 13psi, and that was just to the store and back... I dont wanna do any more damage... But like I said, for all I know, I put 5000 miles on the motor with low comp 3 and 4 pistons...

IJ, I dont think its a torched piston, because I would have a serious compression problem, right? And wouldnt it be audible?

Well, regardless guys, the bottom line is this: Im buying a low mileage motor from a guy I know... The motor was in a Supra that was beside a car that caught on fire, and then burnt the Supra up, but the motor is ok... So I am going to take that motor and do GREAT things with it... Mark my words! Its going to be a VERY impressive thing... *I hope* :D:D:D

LOL Jake,

I was answering the other Jake ;)!

I don't think yours is a torched piston at all I still stick with my broken land guess!

All we need is for the other Jake to start posting here and it'll get really confusing!
