seems as though i'm leak rather steadily out of my HKS SSQV. Not out of the vacum nipple but the front of it where it vents. Not only that but i'm leaking out of my injectors :aigo::aigo:

after only 6k miles i wouldn't expect this from either areas.

Safe to assume the o rings are bad on the leaking injectors (yes there are 2 or 3 leaking pretty good)? what about the BOV though? whats happening with that?

I assume these could also be the cause of my high idle i cant get rid of.

Only the old BOV's are adjustable. Do you have the new one, or the old one? The old ones have an adjustment bolt/locking nut on the back... Is there something blocking the sealing surface inside?

no bolt/nut so i asume its new style. I just looked in at the seal with a light and mirror, didn't see anything obvious preventing the seal...

You might want to check your o-ring that goes on the bottom of the injectors , they migh not be sitting right or the fuel rail is loose. It has 3 bolts that tighen the fuel rail to the head. As far as the Bov check the diaphram, my greddy rs one had a small pin hole in it. Good luck

There are 2 sealing "surfaces" on the injectors. The O-ring and grommet goes into and against the fuel rail. Sees fuel pressure, but never sees engine vacuum or boost. The side that seals (vacuum/boost) into the head uses insulators. They are not reusable.

Don't install the insulators on the injectors. You are supposed to install the insulators into the cylinder head then install the injectors and fuel rail.

If you used new insulators, and you installed them on the injectors, I bet one or more are not seated properly.

it seems to be the insulators as you say, funny part is i did a boost leak check about 600 miles ago and no leaks in either of these places...now all of a sudden they are spewing air :nono:

I will check to make sure the fuel rail is tight as this could definately be the cause.

Can you rotate all 6 injectors by hand?

only the leaky ones which could mean its loose. Currently i'm having an issue with the 12v fuel mod thats needs priority to have a running car.

The injectors SHOULD be able to rotate.

The injectors are supposed to rotate, by hand, freely and smoothly. Check the TSRM.

No offence, but it sounds like you should bring your car to a competent mechanic.

"I don't think" and "could mean" are not terms used by someone with a clue.

I don't think that the fact he is not a mechanic should really be pointed out. This would be a very boring site if it weren't for people helping people. We are not a band of Supra driving Mechanics, but with a little help, we can get things done.

I am trying to help, Forced. He is choosing not to listen to me. If he did, he would have new insulators, at least on order, they are next-day parts from a dealer, and if he even glanced at the TSRM he would know they are supposed to rotate. Someone confirms they are supposed to rotate, and he still insists!! They are rotating too smooth!!! So I give up!

Sounds like he just wants to crank down on those 3 fuel rail bolts. Have at it!!! See if the injectors stop rotating before you strip the threads in the head, and let me know how you make out.

And being a competent mechanic is not saying much. Usually involves a reading and writing level higher than the 8th grade.

you need to calm down. I've installed injectors before. Several insulators all in a row (4, 5 and 6) dont just go bad after a few thousand miles on them, why would it not be possible the fuel rail was a bit loose? I see no harm in checking.

Not only that, reguardless of what the suggestion is for, just because someone on this site tells me "its this" and that will solve all your problems, i'm not going to tear about the intake and remove all these parts and spend all this time because one person said it might be this. I'm going to elimiate all the other things that could be causing it before i start tearing things apart...thats just the logical way of doing things.

And yes, to say i should take it to a 'competent mechanic' is a bit insulting. I appreciate your help and not once said or did anythign that suggests i'm blatantly going to ignore it, but i don't like being talked down to by any means
