I think you're just pissed because Blizzard was smart enough to throw money into WoW and two expansions instead of developing your precious StarCrap sequel.

Nope, games do not occupy my time. I spend hours on end playing guitar all day, so i can care less when they release one.

lol, I remember staying up all night playing d2 w/ my now father and brother in law. The wife, then girlfriend, was not amused when I would come over to play video games w/ her dad/bro instead of hanging out w/ her. Those were the days.

I'll probably pick up D3.

I think WoW is awesome, btw.

diablo 2 seemed like it was kind of rushed out to me though. Act 4 was stupid and incomplete. The expansion was awesome. Act 4 should have taken the longest to beat IMO. WoW is not as good as DAOC. I used to play those mmos but they require such an investment of time and energy. Its like a job you dont get paid for. I will take up anyones challenge to starcraft or wc3!bring it on haha. Maybe be rusty after a few years but ill get my game back. I still have original copies of all of blizzards games except the original diablo. All WC stuff, both starcraft setups, and 2 copies of diablo 2+exp(2 computers for power leveling ftw)

My estimated time frame for the game to come out: 6mo to 9mo, based on bliz not releasing too much info untill it is almost ready, and they are working out the bugs.

Starcraft was not a clone of RTS games at the time... unless someone can come up with a game that competes with SC on things like polish, continuity, replayability, muiltiplayer fun, story, economics design, and overall balance (between 4 factions, not just 2, keep that in mind)... I think SC stands out umung the crowd. Starcraft, for all intents and purposes, was the measuring stick for RTS games for many years after it came out. From March 1998 when SC was released, the only decent competitor that came out that had the popularity of starcraft would be Westwood's C&C RA2, which came along in october 2000.

Blizzard makes great games... from the warcraft series (which were all anywhere from good to epic), Starcraft (lol @ those holding their breath for Starcraft Ghost to come out), and the Diablo series. Anyone ever heard of Rock and Roll Racing? That was made by Blizz too... no wonder it remains as one of my favorite games.

They take a long time to make a game, but damned if they aren't truely epic games. After playing plenty of games that had crazy graphics engines, but were cobbled together at the last minute and sent out the door (Supreme Commander, Hellgate London, for example), one has to appreciate the effort in design and thought that blizzard gives their games.

I won't get started about WoW... but damned if it's not the cheapest hobby to have.

I've only ever pre-ordered one game, but Diablo3 will be the second.

SC was 3 factions btw. unless that was a typo. Total annihiliation was a very underrated game too. it was relased the year before starcraft and aside from SCs online aspect TA was a much better game in most aspects. Way more addicting. and it used a real 3d engine with real physics. I love the fact there is no be all end all strategy. Basically you can win with anything. It used balance through single units instead of balanced factions/armies

TA lacked balance. SC perfected that.
Command and Conquer was a great series, except very difficult to Micro, and focused too much on macro.
And 2D > 3D forever ;)

The reason i say this is for games like SC (which is going 3D) and fighting games, is that it slows it down the game play overall, and in SC case, it doesn't allow for such things as unit stacking, which loses a HUGE part of game play.

I think it's built on the WC3 engine, and WC3 was pretty good, if a bit tough on hardware at the time.

SC had it's issues (zergling rush anyone?), but overall it was pretty good...
