dfl coating on bearings or not?

i posted this question in the general section with no answer...

if i get a good set of clevites, should i send them off to be coated with dfl, or since these are a higher quality bearing, not mess with them?

ive done moly coatings on bearings before it will only help on short bursts of less then adequate oil flow because your supposed to have oil between your bearings and the crank at all times anyways. remember with coating bearings your are actually making the tolerances smaller or tighter so you must account for this difference

most of the places i've seen have said the coating is impregnated and their is no change to dimensions of the stuff being coated. do you have a link to anything stating otherwise? i wanna make sure lal my ducks are in a row if i get this done cause it's an extra $75 or so i could spend on beer instead

Your "good Clevites" are going to be "good NDC's" in Clevite boxes anyway

They're already coated from the factory so only need some assembly lube and correct Oil pressure before the motor ever fires.

not sure i know what you mean on that, does clevite only resell "ndc" bearings?

Yep Clevite stopped making M series bearings and buy from NDC and rebox.
