I'm doing a swap too. My engine should be here tomorrow. This is what I got from reading the forums. I read 240 rwhp

1. 89+ crossmember (or BIC motormounts)
2. 1jz-gte engine
3. 2jz pwersteering line/banjo bolt
4. 2jz throttle cable
5. 1jz bell housing (if you bought an auto or one with no tranny at all)
6. 1jz flywheel (if you bought an auto or one with no tranny at all)

I'm sure there are more that I can't remember. Just do some reading under the 1jz section. All the answers are there.

Aaron is right about the build threads though but here is what i understand

I spoke with a guy at RCTS with his JDM 1J he Dyno'ed complete stock with just and Intake. 260-RWHP, 280-FT/LBS

if you just buy an engine you are looking at

1. 89+ crossmember (or BIC motormounts)
2. 1jz-gte engine - Plus tranny Depending on engine bought
3. 2jz pwersteering line/banjo bolt
4. 2jz throttle cable
5. 1jz bell housing (if you bought an auto or one with no tranny at all)
6. 1jz flywheel (if you bought an auto or one with no tranny at all)
7. Intercooler and piping
8. Ignitor
9. 1JZ ECU Plus Wiring or a Stand Alone ECU
10. Map Sensor
11. Down Pipe for some long blocks
12. Intake

I think thats everything, 10 to 1 there's more but that's what i can think of

1j's are good engines. They have a rather healthy aftermarket here in Japan but if you live in the States I say just stay your 7M. Parts for 1J's are rather hard to come buy there. Though 1j's are prone to BHG:)

The aftermarket for 1J's is bigger than you might think, you just have to seek it out. Besides, you can always have custom parts made. I know Driftmotion has been known to make some pretty trick stuff for 1J's, including mattjk's cold air intake pipe.

Just do a search, you will find a ton of parts. Trust us 1JZ owners. It's amazing what the internet, a search engine like Yahoo, and a credit card can get you.:naughty: There's also the fact that there are couple 2JZ parts that fit on the 1JZ, most being upgrades. Although some do require minor modification to fit.

Just to name a couple. Go here for even more information

That is not funny duuude!!!!
oh yeah..almost all cars have interchangeavle parts, but they are numbered differently for each manufacturer....

ya but knowing that Izuzu and your Supra have the same parts :3d_frown: it's almost scary

I can be happy about Yamaha Designing the head for the Engine. But some things are better left undiscovered LOL
