so my dash wont light up when i turn on the headlights. so i am driving with no gauge lights and no dash lights at night. i think its a fuse but idk which one i need to check. the entire dash itself works fine just wont light up at night when i turn on my headlights. i flip the switch and it all goes dark a/c gauges speedo tach everything on the dash goes dark. the turn signals work the E-brake light turns on when i engage the E-brake. i need help. any ideas much appreciated this is my first supra. and want to do it right

Do you know how to read the EWD?
And what is the difference between dash and gauge lights? I assume you mean what Toyota calls the combination meter.

Oh, there is also a dimmer switch, if all the way down will shut off the combination meter illumination.
Also check if you have the correct bulbs in the tails they should be a single point not dual not sure if that was the cause but I changed em and they came back on.
I know how to read EWD'S. Ik its not the dimmer switch. I took a video will post later today. The best way I can explain it is when I'm driving at night my entire dash is dark. I have no illumination on my dash at all when I turn my headlights on. The bulbs are in the back of the dash right?
i dont have one and not wanting to dig into the dash hope to be a fuse or sumthing. plus i just learned how to and dont want to mess anything up as its my only transportation at the moment
what do you mean. i tryed the dimmer switch nuthing happened. what meter are yout alking about. i have a dimmer switch which will brighten and dim the dash i moved that left and right and nuthing happened. where would the fuse be for the the interior lights and stuff.
BUMP.... I came across this thread as I was having the same problem.... Went out to my car and yup, dimmer switch was all the way down. Must have done that as I was washing and cleaning my car...... Anyways, thanks alot guys for having common sense and trying to help out the op who I am pretty sure had a bad dimmer switch... You guys hit it on the nail...

Ive checked the dimmer switch, bulbs (replace w new 1), bulb sockets/holders, fuses, wires n im still getting nothing on from my gauges.
I evn swap the bulbs sockets n still nothing.
I know im getting 12v on the cirucit to the light bulb cuz i checked it w a tester.
I am really stump. Juz scraching my head. Wht the heck is going on????....
