I come from a land down under
The E-brake design is very misleading Vs Lash...

Came across this on a Bud's 1G Soarer (exact same rear end and brakes)

I'd just ignore/discount those findings, I was more looking for something worn/damaged putting an alignment stress into the rear axles, just for ShitsNgiggles check the Rear driveshaft phasing!

Almost 50 here and this is the one and only move ever for me :D

Took 12 trips up with the Ute and a big ass Tandem trailer to get all my crap here and am slowly getting the workshop setup as I want it, I have 2>3 weeks of work ahead of me once I get the material and make a start then I'll do a couple of weeks building a mezzanine and workbenchs/racks in the Shed.

Once that's all done I'll play cars again :runaway:

OK, gotcha, yeah not finding anything that has enough play to make a difference...

So just clarifying... as the term is often crossed... When you say drive shaft, you are referring to the actual drive-axle (diff - to wheel) right or are you referring to drive-line/propeller shaft? If the drive axle, what phasing are you referring to (tripods lining up)? If you are referring to drive-line then just a reminder in case you got lost in my rambling thread... I did have rear section re-tubed and I checked to make sure shop lined them up appropriately...

My next step, is that the one shop I had do a dynamic wheel balance on the front, of course said they could not on the rear... I am just wondering if I can drive rear wheels with motor while on jacks stands for them to be able to do a dynamic balance, since they can't spin them with the machine... it really helped the front end when they did that...

Sounds like a lot of fun, glad you made it that long before having to move and I am sure you don't plan to do that ever again... Yet it is exciting I am sure to be able to have all the room and be able to build out the inside how it works for you.

My most difficult move for me was 2400 miles with 26' foot furniture box on a 1986 GMC truck, towing a 16' stock trailer and a truck with a 36' horse trailer... Besides all of the crap, there were 2 adults, 2 kids, 3 horses, 1 mule, 1 pony, 1 jersey cow, 1 calf, 3 goats, 3 dogs, 3 cats, a guinea pig and a dove... won't ever do that again...

So anyway... back to work I go...

Driveshaft as in prop shaft between gearbox and Diff. :)

3 Uni's should all be in line perfectly o-o-o

Ok just double checking :)

Yeah I have had it out 3 times in the last 2 weeks, 1st time had shop replace carrier and rear uni then balance, felt horrible, so returned it, they re-balance at higher rpm, felt better but not good, then had them re-tube rear section and balance, felt much better but that is where I am now... and yes while on the shop floor I used a 48" square to check that all uni's lined up, that is where I asked you on a earlier post about the front and back sections being 90 degrees out of sync... but they are at 90 deg, not 80 or 100 etc... and the rear is lined up good after re-tube...

Yeah no worries, I figures as much... I know I would be...

OK, I will try that, in fact I was thinking I should clarify, that if they did not have to be off by 90 deg what happens when both and front sections line up... who knows maybe nothing, maybe something... pulling a tranny out of a civic for sister in-law this week in my spare time (haha) so will be a little while, but I will update should I make any discoveries that help...
