You don't have to torque them down just snug (I do know that term has different meanings to each and everyone), let the gasket do the work. Also are they toyota gaskets by chance?

yea they are. i only use toyota parts expensive yes worth it yes. ok except aftermarket parts lol. last i knew they are in there i didnt remove them. i keep snugging them and they back them selfs out. idk i might try a new set of rubbers its been bout 12000 miles since i did the mhg

i dont like doing that ive had rubber gasket dissappear when i did that. then again it was a cheap autozone gasket oh well it it was a nice atempt to kill a honda. yea ill give that a shot too

Try using a 'Mild' form of Loctite (or similar) on the threads of the Valve Cover Screws.

...or bolts if you've upgraded them like most of us have. ;)

New grommets and new gaskets FTW. If you've overtightened the fasteners you may want to check the flatness of the base of the covers.

I had this same problem a while back using felpro gaskets... they were too big for the valve covers....

And I don't know for sure how much difference those little grommets make, but I got new silicone gaskets, a new set of grommets, washers to go on top of the grommets, and allen bolts, and FINALLY got them to stop leaking.

ok so i got the new valve cover gaskets installed and grommets and the 2jz srews with the sealant in the spots needed so we will find out. if not it will be loctite then jb weld lol
