Earlier today I ordered my fittings and push-lok hose for my afpr etc....come to realize that jegs says the hose isn't meant for fuel...I believe it will be fine anyway for a short period of time but still pissed at myself for not reading the info on it:-(

anybody else run this hose with no problem? I haves feeling that it's just a liabilty/marketing thing for them to say that so they sell more braided hose..

Nope, if its not rated for fuel don't run it. I can not tell you how many times I have cars come in with issues that were a result of incorrect fuel lines. The interior will degrade and collapse.

They have push lock hose that works with fuel, it's just pricey.

I just did some more poking around and it seems to be that jegs push lok is actually gates push lok hose...which is constructed with a nitrile inner tube just like most braided fuel line....I honestly believe it will be ok

Lol plus:

Temperature range: -40°F to +212°F (-40°C to +100°C) normal service. For temperatures exceeding 160°F use hose clamps.

Tube: Type C (Nitrile). Black. RMA (Class A) high oil resistance.

Reinforcement: Braided, high tensile synthetic textile cord.

Cover: Type C (Modified Nitrile). Black,Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, or Gray. RMA (Class A) high oil resistance.

Branding: Continuous ink brand.

Example: LOL PLUS 12LOLA+ 3/4 INCH 300 PSI WP FLAME RESISTANT COVER Made in U.S.A..

Using these links it looks like it should be just fine for gas

I guess so. :)

By reading the info that gates gives are you getting the same impression as I am? I'm guessing that companies selling the stuff say not to use with gasoline because gates main page says

Recommended for: When matched with push-lock style couplings, LOL Plus hose is an outstanding performer for a wide range of low pressure transfer applications including petroleum-base hydraulic oils, water, glycol antifreeze solutions, hot lubricating oils, and air. NOTE: Lock-on hose and couplings are not recommended for pressure surge applications or critical applications such as permanent piping in residential or commercial buildings. Contact Gates Product Application for gasoline and diesel fuel applications.

but it doesn't say "do not use for gas"...when you do refer to the data it tells you to check, the data seems to say that it works pretty good...I think people were too lazy to look up the data.....ooooor I'm reading it wrong?!

I am speaking from experience on past failure. I can not confirm if it was Summit or gates push lock, but it was a non fuel rated hose.

Keep the hose, make use of it for some coolant lines, reorder the right stuff that is rated for fuel injection. Fuel line is not something you cut corners on, unless the idea of fuel spraying on a hot engine sounds like fun.

Or, call gates, and say
"I've ordered XXX hose. It says to check with you on it's application for fuel injection. I intend to run up to 100 psi of fuel pressure. Will it work safely?"

You seem to have your mind made up, just trying to convince yourself it safe. ME I wouldn't take the chance. If it says its not recommended why would you anyways. It may work it may not. Let us know how it does Im sure your going to anyways.

This is the only sane answer in this thread.

Don't take a chance with fuel. When you've got atomized 100 psi fuel spraying all over the place, it's amazing how fast things go from fun to fire department.

I have no specific experience with this hose, but my general experience is do not fuck around with fuel. It will bite you in the ass.

Gates LOL+ for sure stands up to fuel and heat.

It's the pressure i can't comment on.

But if i were Baboon; i'd get aeroquip or earls push on.

My mind isn't made up....I made a mistake but according to "gates" it should be ok for a short time....I only want to see if all this work works out then I'll order fuel specific hose but now I need to find what I can use 10' of -6 red push-lok hose for lol.

I'm not going to use this hose daily...I just want to turn the key for the first time and hear the bitch run...after that hose will be removed for something better....already started looking for fuel specific push lock hose:-(
