I've got a question involving mounts this time around, but I think I'm just going to attempt to make this my retarded 2jzgte swap question thread. My head hurts from how much I've been researching it on here the last 2 weeks.

Anyway... I finally got a chance to look at my mounts and they are the damn square type... I'd really like to avoid swapping the whole crossmember out if I don't have to... So i'm looking at the bic pre 89 motor mounts.

Has anyone swapped a 2j just using the pre89 bic mounts and not switching the cross member? Any problems with oil pan? Any probs with fan and rad? ... anything else?

This may be retarded but I just want to make sure that the engine will sit exactly the same with these pre 89 mounts as if i had the newer crossmember with the 89+ mounts. One major reason I ask this is because I read that another member said there was about 3cm in between the 2j fan and rad.

If there is any doubt or question I'll probbaly just swap them, but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Also... will oem mounts be good enough or should i buy the polyurethane pieces?

bic mounts or 89+ xmember and jza70 mounts are the only way. or custom. Location has to be the same for the Tranny crossmember to bolt up.

The stock rubber mounts are fine...unless they are damaged, lots of them will be cracked or sagged once you look at them up close, however the pre 89 mounts are 10x stronger than the 89+ mounts. I would say 80-90% of them are broken once removed. BTW I have the mounts and brackets in stock ready to ship.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I was planning on installing some new mounts either way but i just wanted to make sure.

Anyway... I bought your ddp and test pipe about a year ago and those were just plain awesome. Expect to hear from me in about a month on the brackets once I get the swap going.
