Just get a random tech cat (3" bolt in) and be done with it. besides, with a gutted cat or 'fake' the exhaust will still stink of HC and any cop with a half-way functioning brain will be able to figure out that you don't have the real thing. Just feel lucky that you didn't nailed with the EPA fine (charged per missing cat) or get sent to a referee station to get it signed off.....

ill get the ebay hi-flow one... and see if it will be okay for the sound...

i have a 3" exaust and no cat or ressionators. just a pace setter muffler. pretty damn quiet till that turbo hits its max!!!

even if your not into pace setter, try worlock mufflers. they are prety quiet and have a removable plate for when your at the strip.

get a high flow cat, and dont cheap out on it because the cheap ebay "high flow cat" is known to burn out in no time and your flow will most likely suffer. Silence the muffler and throw a resonator in the mix. You wont lose enough horsepower to make ya lose to anything you wouldnt have before and you wont have to worry.

I used 2000 degree paint on my exhaust to paint it black in hope of attracting less attention than having a huge polished apex muffler.

yep- they cheaper the cat, the less active metal substrate they use. If you are going to do it, spend the money once and get a cat that will last more than 6 months...

btw have you ever looked at the cost of a new cat (OE - any manufacture)? Its whats inside that counts (and why they are so expensive).

i got caught by cops today...3 inch no-cat exhaust system with magnaflow tailpipe...not i must make the exhaust (legal) to the eyes of the cops...ne 1 know witch one i can get and/or where i can get one?? i dont really care about being a green man...but i must at least install a hi-flow cat and the exhaust must make less sound :S

I have a magnaflow high flow cat 3 inch brand new in the box, bought it before the rest of the system and found I didn't need it. 50.00 bucks plus shipping, cost me 69.00 including shipping.
