How would they be built differently?! Made in the same place!

That being said, Alltrac parts are expensive, and they're hard to work on. I don't know where you got that they were easy, even on celicatech or st162 they complain about them all the time.

Well, most UK market ones have been built in Reading...at least since about '92.

Also dont forget, up until recently, our Toyota's have had a different range of parts fitted, not least because we're RHD like the Japanese and Australians. Hell, we never had EGR or Charcoal Canisters, BVSV's or even Catalytic converters (in most cases) - so its not hard to think they might be built differently.

You also have to 'federalise' your vehicles to pass inspection....

We quit getting them in 92 IIRC. I know for sure we didn't get any after 93. I forgot you have entirely different standards for some stuff, so it is possible they're built differently, but seeing as he's in the US I win :)

^ exactly. i've been looking for a turbo MR2, or even a supercharged...but i figure i'll just get used to how it handles on a N/A first... it is a DD anyway so driving super fast shouldn't be a big concern. dont make it boring...but dont kill yourself :p

That seems kinda dumb. You'd be expecting it to behave one way and it would do something entirely different. Start boosted, but run low boost.

i've never driven a turbo or supercharged car so i forgot they would be totally different. i'd read that it's a whole new feel just having the engine in the back, so i'd be getting used to how the car reacts when loose in open parking lots. but i guess you're right as far as having more power, it will be different. i dunno. i was thinking about how the car shifts it's weight, not how you can loose it easy when it hits boost, and being used to NA would render you helpess.
