I'm selling my honda hybrid and just using my supra as my daily driver. This is becaue I work at home now and don't commute as often as I did before.

It will be fine for running to the grocery store, going to the bank, etc... plus everytime I've had my supra fixed for this or that... and let it sit just to find out the problem was never really fixed or led to another problem. If you drive it everyday even just 5 miles you can really work out all the bugs much quicker and get it running reliably.

I would never use the supra to commute 50+ miles every day though.

DD here, too poor to afford a second vehicle....no boosting never gets old, and the gas isnt that bad when you actually try for mileage....

Same here, love my supra as a DD, i get around 20-22 when i don't boost a lot. When my supra see's downtime for maitenance or upgrades i miss it terribly. Oh and the power never gets old either, in fact the car never seizes to amaze me with it's power.

I daily drive my 1JZ-GTE Supra. To work and back... at night if I go out... everywhere. But not to the gym! I got in my mother's Terios, so I don't sweat my Supra seats :p ... I know, I'm a bastard. But she'll change that vehicle this year anyways.

I don't know about gas, since the speedometer isn't working (bought the cable, but it's not installed yet). But it doesn't seem awful when I drive normally (no boost). If I drive it very hard it will be worse, of course... but when you daily drive these cars, you learn that you don't HAVE to rev it up to 7,000 every chance you get. =)

My '87 NA started life as a second car (when it was new).
Then in mid life it bacame a daily driver until the leaking HG because too much. Then on the rebuild, it went to a turbo and a daily driver for a few years until CA smog problems. Now its just sitting waiting for another rebuild. I'd rebuild it except if I did, I wouldn't have any use for my 4-runner. The supra got about 20 mpgs and had plenty of power. The 4 runner gets 18 mpgs and no power.

I drive mine every day and have put about 70K miles on it since I bought it. It has been through a rebuild and a new headgasket later but thats all I have done in 8 years. Funny thing is, of my 3 cars it is the only one running right now.

Thanks guys. What about the exhaust, as long as you don't have a heavy foot I suppose it isn't too loud after a while? Or does the exhaust always sound great to you guys?

I looked around and couldn't find the MPG thread (if there is one?)

How many miles do you get to the gallon of gas?

The exhaust? Have you not seen how big the mufflers are? This is one of the quietest cars ever made. If you go to open pipes, that is different.

The car serves as a great daily driver. Comfortable seats, good mileage, isolated from the outside world with the windows up and top on, what more could you ask? Better in the snow would be ok I guess.

Sorry, I have not been around supras long enough. Just from the videos I have heard with aftermarket exhaust it sounds loud. I've been listening to kwantes (sp?) goliath video...it sounds amazing.

Thanks for the mileage thread, it would have helped if I spelt it right...Thanks.

24-29mpg (with and w/o a/c on). But then again I'm a nonturbo.
