I couldn't decide if this should go in off topic or general discussions, so I posted it here, since it is supra related...

I have to use the supra for a daily driver for a few months at minimum while my truck undergoes reconstruction. Who else uses their supra for a daily driver? Does it get old after a while...I mean, does the power and fuel consumption get annoying?

Thanks...

Mods can move this if necessary...

mine is fun to drive as a DD, i'd like to move it to WW status but that'll have to wait a while longer. i know a few people that get bad gas maileage but overall i think most people get pretty decent relative to the car. i get about 220-250 a tank mostly highway driving. just make sure to check fluids every couple of days...

I've been daily driving a Supra since 1997. I couldn't see myself driving anything else. The gas mileage is better then most SUV's and trucks. As for power getting annoying, wtf lol! Having good power at my disposal makes it very easy to merge into traffic, plus it's better then coffee in the morning :)

I only have 200~ backfiring horses ar my disposal but I love that power. It never gets old. Sure My supra isnt the pinnacle of greatness but It never gets old. And the way some older guys in Corvettes give me thumbs up. Yay.

yeah man i daily my supra everyday and gas mileage isn't bad just can't boost tons. but having the ability to pass slow moving vehicles is definetly a plus. gas is kinda a pain in the ass a 60$ tank last me 400KM but it's worth every cent

My car runs great, I love it as a daily driver, but getting a hefty 12.1mpg(average), I try to ignore the gas prices when I go to the pumps. The power getting old? Never. I love getting onto interstate ramps because it's an excuse to go fast and not get in trouble for it!;) If your Supra is your daily driver, be forewarned...Make sure you are keeping things under your hood up to date. (Hoses, Pumps, Filters, etc.) I get tired of people saying Supra's aren't reliable cars...because they ARE...if you take care of them.:)

I use my '87 n/a as my DD. After dialing it in its not super fast, but quick enough to still make the experience fun with its awesome handling. Once you get used to driving a Supra all the time most other cars drive like shit in comparison.

Mine has been a DD since 01, except for winter (except one :( )
If I didn't decide to build it up, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it again.

When completion of this project is near, I'm thinking of a project N/A DD MK3. ITB's, MSII, bilstein/ST, DT header, true duals.
yessir.

a moderately modified turbo is a great DD. Plenty of power to merge, and an overall nice car to drive.

mines a DD for the past 6+yrs. I tried to put my rebuilt std ct26 on in place of my highflo'd one and it made me angry so I put the hiflo back on and never looked back. If I drive something slow then it makes me pissed off.
Not fussed with the petrol prices or the servicing. Petrol is always going to go up.

Mine is a DD, except in the rain. I actually have better MPG than when my car was stock(er). I used to get about 12MPG with my lexus AFM, but now with MAF-T it does great.

i got a dd (a honda) like 2 years ago before underwent the 1jz swap.. now recently just bought another supra to replace my dd.. I missed driving around and having the power, comfort, and everything.. Gasmilage wasn't that bad (i got around 20).. a lot worse then my beater honda now, but the honda sucks.. lol.. but do like the 4 doors... eventually I'll sell off my DD and get an IS for a dd.. once I want 4 doors again..

Mine is my DD when it's not down getting working on, I drive it all the time, rain or shine. It's never seen snow and never will, I'm going to pick up something else to drive this winter.

Mines a daily driver too, paid 3k and had 127K miles. In the 4 years Ive owned it the original engine got up to 177K miles before a bhg so I put in a JDM and its running great. I don't think I could own a car that wasn't a daily driver if it's sport type car. The car I sold to buy my 89 N/A was a 68 440 500hp Dodge Charger I restored over an 8 year period. Then I drove it every day 100 miles round trip thru a beautiful canyon to and from work. I did that for two years until it literally was in need of another restoration. So I can't see owning em if ya don't drive em, and drive em HARD.
