Cylinder Head Swap - What all is needed/suggestions?

Well basically I am wondering what all is needed when doing a head swap. Engine is a 91 1jzgte. I was able to find a nice built head for a decent price so I want to get it done before I send the wagon off to get wired. I don't really plan on running super high boost atm so I don't think I'll be getting ARP bolts. So really the two questions are:

What parts are needed when swapping the heads?
Any suggestions on what to look for/do?

Lastly...bonus question...should I be worrying about the HKS 272's this head has? as far as interference and what not

Don't worry about interference.

Get a new 1JZ gasket kit, it'll have brand new intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, as well as a new head gasket, new valve cover gaskets, new cam gaskets, and new valve seals if you new head doesn't already have them.

Get a new timing belt while you're at it.

Good deal, I was looking at the set that driftmotion sells last night. Should I we worrying about decking the head/block? I mean obviously I probably should, but I don't think I want to pull the engine for that. I was also reading a few threads about the hg problems people had which somewhat had me worried about it and using a oem hg

The rule of thumb I go by is if I'm replacing the head gasket with the same one, I won't deck the block/head, as it will warp identically to what it has already.

I've never blown a JZ head gasket either.

So if its running oem now, go oem and I should be good? I guess the bhg threads I was reading was a bad interpretation about what the norm is. Damn, I can't wait for the head to actually get here...should be something fun to work on finally

Are you reading 7M BHG threads, or JZ threads?

The reason I ask is because they use two completely different materials for their gaskets. a JZ uses a 4 layer Steel gasket where as a 7M uses a composite gasket. They're going to react differently to the flatness of the head.

Even so, when I hear of 7M guys replacing head gaskets with new OEM gaskets, a lot of them don't re-surface the block.
