I think a problem that you might have with such a setup is that once one pickup is no longer in oil, the pump would merely suck air.

I'm not too familiar with hydralics, thats why i'm asking
so what you are saying is both of them have to be fully submerged in oil in order to work?
it would't work if only one of them was?

do this...

fill a glass with water, now get two straws... now put one straw into the water, and one outside, and then suck on both at the same time... let me know what happens...

that is what will happen if one of them isnt fully submerged...

1st best thing you can do witht he shitty ass stock pump is lowwer the picup lower cause it way to freaking high off teh bottom of the pan

2nd run a crown clours around were the pick up is add kick out on one siad of the pan done deal

hmmm. is this a problem on 2jz's as well.. shold i lower the pickup a little bit more? just to be safe for when i'm drifting and doin burnouts.

i think the dual pickup could be benificial, if done right. a deeper sump with more oil should be fine, to prevent the pump from cavitating

i lowered the pickup in my pan when i had the lower end of the motor apart. you have to crush the screen a bit to get it down there more.

second, as IJ. stated, your best bet would be a well baffled pan, like the group A pan. (man, if i could only find one of those!)

and last, an accumulator will work wonders for you if you're worried about oil starvation. it's next on my list for the oil system, actually. :)

does anyone have a pic of the inside of the group A pan?

^
also I thought a smaller pickup would work better since threre is less chance of sucking in air

top is from what I remember the stock pickup looks like - bottom is what i think it should look like
