the aeromotive regulator is the biggest and cheap shit...

this is not the HKS regulator...HKS is not plug n play...the flow can control about a manometer and via Zeitronix....this regulator works perfect over 4 years in this car on ~5 Bar!

yes, thats exactly what i was trying to say.

there was a local guy that used vise grips on his return hose. it was adjustable too! if he needed more fuel pressure he just clamped them down harder. true story.

Lol...how cheap can you get?

Roy

I have to agree with him. Converting a stock regulator to adjustable isn't rocket science and there's no reason it should be any less reliable than an aftermarket one *if* it's done right. Fwiw back in the old days before we had all the goodies we have now I custom controlled my fuel pressure electronically using a Bosch frequency valve. That's an item older than the car itself. Worked like a charm and never had a problem.

Now vise grips on the return line, that's another story ;)

here's mine...
It was modified by chief engineer on local factory. And it works fine more than one year already.

Um, no. It's not cheap shit. I'd like to see a show of hands of how many people have had their aeromotive AFPR shit out on them. Now, take that figure and compare it to the number of failed modded stock fuel pressure regulators. ;)

Edit: and I'm not talking about a failure due to improperly installed SS fuel lines, the regulator itself people ;).

I come from a land down under
After a certain amount of rwhp you need xx flow in the return when closing the throttle and xx at full throttle I'm not sure of the internal construction of the stock FPR but I know Malpassi's have an issue with valve flutter above a certain flow.

I'm looking at this from a performance PoV and I'm sure the above mod is functional but at what point does it become unreliabe?

I wouldn't risk it on a high hp motor as one lean out can ruin your whole day.
