I have a 1986.5 N/A Supra 5 speed. I actually just bought it yesterday. It has OBX Headers on it. The guy had his brother's mechanic weld on the o2 sensor but they welded in the wrong place so it only reads 3 cylinders so the check engine light comes on. I want some custom fabricated headers for this car. Does anyone know any good companies that do custom fabrication?

It should have been put farther down on the collector.

Take it to a shop that understands what an O2 sensor does...

Did they keep putting it to far upstream? I don't see how they could keep getting it wrong?

Yea Im working on making that look a lil cleaner. And if no one wants to trade or buy the car straight out, then Ill just be greedy and keep my n/a and buy a turbo supra also. its nothin to me! I'd love to have both. Drive my N/A around and garage my turbo while I do it up

Sounds good, but im not so sure were you get the idea that turbo's arnt reliable and that they cant be daily drivers.... Ive seen you post that a few times... They are just as reliable as NA's, of course if they have the right owners.

Why not turbo your black one?

I had a daily driver turbo before. Im not saying they cant be daily drivers. But if I have a turbo and an N/A, Im really gona beef up my turbo and go crazy with it. Its gona be more of a weekend car and track car. If I have just a turbo supra, then Ill have to keep it fairly street legal and a daily driver.

I would like to turbo my N/A but I dont know how to do it myself and I dont know how much trouble it would be or how much it would cost

Well considering that the NA-T swap is pretty straightfoward, and that the heads and block are "interchangeable", its not too bad. I would sugest picking up a used 7mgte or 1jz, those swaps have been documented 10x over and arnt too hard.

How much do you think it would cost to do a complete swap on a 1jz?
