im not a fan of this as it makes my job harder when i get engines in when there like this, but there are some sealants out there that if directions are followed, they work just as good as a permanent repair. im not suggesting this, but if you want to buy yourself some time, this may be a long term temperary fix.

If you plan on junking the engine...

blew the hg on my z24 cavalier at 90k, used some "wanna be" repair and drove it too 200k. never had any problems. BUT, again IF you can fix it right, i suggjest doing so, but since you said you were looking for work, this MIGHT get you out of a jam and WONT hurt your engine.

true, but will most likely still work, and wont damage the motor to where youll have to "junk" it.
but again, this is only a suggestion. if i was out of work, and needed it my car, i would try it. well, did try it, and had success, also seen first hand the fail of doing this, still had to magnaflux head and block on engines and redo the hg. so, again, totally up to you bro.

:3d_frown: as stated 6 posts up "if directions are followed". everyone has there own opinions. thats the beauty of these forums. cheapo sealers, idk, probly arent the best choice, and possibly to some, none are the best, but get a good, known brand and youll be safe. bars leak is NOT one of them. in my 20 years of doing machine work, i have never seen bars leak NOT "clump" up in the coolant passages. we have screwed around in the shop here on slow days with junk ass motors, and have gotten awsome results with "steel seal" and a few others like the green bottle permatex. expencive, but works better than even the bottle states.

so one more time,:nono: am i suggesting this will fix your problem? NO!!!
am i saying its worth trying? YES
will it ruin your motor? FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!! and NO it wont.

if im out of work, and needed to fix it, there is no harm in trying this method.

To the op, if you take boostedsupra's suggestion, make sure you dont push the car hard. Because itll temperarly fix the problem but if you run it hard, you may just have wasted your time.

And do a compresion test and have the fluid tested as poodles said above. Poodles is an extremely smart person when it comes to this sort of stuff, so if he suggests it, its for the best.

Fucking Poodles..Lulz...OP simply going on what I have read in this post and making a snap judgment which is what it appears you want.

YOU ARE FUCKED. Your car is ruined. the 7m is a piece of shit. You should scrap it and get a honda. Thank you please drive thru

Strong suggestion when some one with mod status and a high post count starts giving FREE advice you may want to take the cotton out of your ears and stick it in your mouth.

Wow maybe if you put that level of thought into fixing your car right the first time you wouldn't need a I sick of it wah wah wah thread.

In your first post you said that you had been driving around with multiple leaks and overheated the car. Then you run it dry. Then you start to notice blue(oil) smoke and a loss of power. Wtf man seriously denial isn't just a river in Egypt. You have a BHG. If not a warped head. Don't half ass fix it with some bullshit from the auto parts store.

Pull it apart and fix it. Use the right shit and make sure all the hoses are tight, Burp it and make sure you dont have any nic's in the rubber seal on the Rad cap.

Sucks that you dont have a job, But the car is down, fixing it with some goo will only lead to more repairs down the road. But whatever man it is your car. Looking forward to the next thread

i just re read the entire thing. i believe that, coolant pressure test, compression test, block and everything has been mention FAILURE, did you attempt any of these procedures?

Everything is right there on how to check it the correct way not how to half ass it. If you are out of work and need the car then i would spend the time you have on these posts, tearing the car down and repairing it the right way than trying to find a way around it.

But if you wanna a huge short cut, NOT A SUGGESTION OR RECOMMENDATION FOR ANYONE, remove thermostat, drain coolant, remove radiator cap, open bag of cement pour into radiator, add water, run car, let set, get back on computer and find a bus schedule. PURELY SARCASM

Without properly diagnosing you engine and correctly fixing it its not more than a boat anchor.

This thread is way off now, but it is here for advice and help, from people with experience in these engines.
