Has anyone actually dynoed the difference between the stock ct26 10 blade turbine and compare it to the larger Turbo A 9 Blade turbine?

Thinking about Machining a Garrett Turbine that is a 58.3/73mm with 11 blades into a stock ct26 Housing.

Figured its a little bit bigger than the Turbo A dimensions. (Stock: 52mm/67.3)(turbo A: 57.8/70.7mm) May keep looking for some in my box of junkers to get it closer, thats just what I had on hand, doubt I will tho

Does anyone know How big the Turbines are on the Boss jr? Inducer/exducer?

What are your guys thoughts?

The Boss jr which isn't for sale any more was a T04E compressor and 60-1 compressor. The T04E is 57 trim. I haven't seen a turbo A on a dyno.

okay, the hot side of the turbo is called a Turbine, SO the Jr. was a T04E turbine and a 60-1 compressor?

Sweet I have a T04B Turbine.

Wondering, If I should Machine the Shaft to be Identical of the CT26 Turbine, or Machine the CT Center bearing to fit a generic Garret wheel. That way the shaft will be thicker. Id still have to shorten it up tho.

Still would need the wheel. ill just machine it to fit the stock bearing housing...

I already saw that, not worth it IMO. cant find turbo A turbines. I plan on making these for Anyone with a CT. So better to use garrett, cause I can get garrett turbines all day long..

No.

I missed the turbine upgrade. :nono: And for a second I thought you were just really dense. When that wasn't the problem. I was refering to the compressors available. You don't change turbine wheels. Get a larger hotside.

Now you made me confused. I already do Compressor wheel upgrades. I machine Garrett wheels to fit in the compressor housing.

Now Im talking about machining a Turbine wheel(aka shaft, aka Hotside) into the stock bearing housing(cartridge). then machining the Scroll(aka hotside) with the shroud Contour of the Bigger Turbine.

SO it would be a T04B 60-1 compressor wheel CT26 with a T04B turbine upgrade that would measure 58.3 Exducer/73mm Inducer.

"T04B" and "T04E" as well as Super 60, 60-1 and 62-1 refers to the compressor only. Sorry. T4 or T3 refers to the hot side, or turbine as it is correctly called.

I have no adivce on changing turbine impellers in the CT26 housing other than I don't think you should. You will get more flow and performance from a better housing.

Okay. figured. after looking at it setup, I wont be able to machine the scroll to fit the heat shield, SO if any thing, adapter a garrett center housing to the CT scroll

Oh and BTW, t3 and t4 is ONLy the flange type. The turbines come in thousands or different types. and If you say T04B its referring to O-trim, P-trim, and Q-trim.

I asked The owner of Arizona Turbo and tractor how has been building my custom turbos for years now. And when I said T04B turbine he said which one, O, P or Q? Obviously I would use the The O-trim

---------- Post added at 08:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:27 PM ----------

So this is out of the question unless I can machine bore the scroll just under the heat shield lip and grind a shaft in..

What happened to that turbo?? I found it a pretty decent replacement. Too bad on the bad reviews on the customer service

Comp turbos are decent at best. SP Engineering in Chicago tested a Comp 67 and a Precision 6765. The comp was sluggish and did not flow as well.

If you ask me, for the quality and price, you cannot beat a Precision turbo.

I will be adding some adapter plates to my vendor section for the stock manifold to a T4 turbo.

The Garrett webpabe doesn't post much info on the T4 family anymore, but it is still in the catalog. Just as an FYI, GT turbos used to be NGT. As in New Garrett Technology, and the NGT was changed to GT because it sounds better. The compressors work better, period. But that doesn't mean the good 'ole T4 doesn't make good power. It is just that the GT35R is better.
