ct26 on a 2jz?

Hey guys I have what I realized seems to be an unusual combination because the guy who owned my car before me seems to have done something to fit the ct26 to my car with a different intake manifold. Anyway what kind of power do they put out usually? It's a drift motion ct26 57 trim. I'm told it can put down 400whp with a 7mgte so I wonder how it would do with the much better breathing 2jz. Thanks in advance

I have seen a 1j ex adapter for ct26 Driftmotion. Of all the turbos to pick for a 2J a ct 26 would be low on my list. I feel it would limit your power and especially increased rpm ability of 2J. I think stock rev limit is 7200 rpm. Maybe on super budget build to 2J running. I think they make a ct 26 flange to adapt to T4 manifold however that is $100 and need oil line kit another $100 or so. When you go with real turbo for car then you exhaust would need redone as well. I would sell your turbo and look for a deal on used turbo.

When I do my 2J swap i plan to go with a precision 5862 or 6262. Still deciding on top power goals. I really like fast spool up and very responsive turbo for type of driving I do. Thinking about VVTI engine and E85 maybe even quick spool valve if i go with 6262. Have you seen Sound Performance torque monster turbo kit 300 ft lbs torque at 3000 rpm's Can you say fat juicy power band. IMO good luck.

once I have larger injectors I plan on running a higher amount of boost with this but being its a drift motion with a 57 trim its a bit more capable than stock. My next turbo I will be getting a 6262 more than likely. Its not money that's problem, its just winter or I'd be running e85 and already be swapped myself. But at ten pounds it pulls the rear end quite hard which tells me power is sufficient for stock

Well.. stock 'big' turbo on the 2j is a ct26. Why not just get a holset hx40 t4 flange and put it on instead?

What's the price run on something like that and typically power output? The name has been run by me many times but a 6262 is the only one I've seen in action that made big power

HX40 7 blade will get you close to 500 bhp with the proper supporting mods. They can cost anywhere from 200-400 in good condition and will last if treated right.

So what do you think my 57 trim ct26 would be putting out in a 2jz for now? It really does pull hard, recent pass on a 350awhp sti by quite a couple car lengths and I'm only running 10psi currently. Seems pretty capable right now

elaborate answer, now one thing i've noticed is the 57 trim doesn't spool quite as fast. It hits me right around 4k and pulls hard until around 7k. I have the computer set to start boosting around 2300 to try and give myself a chance at traction. Otherwise it seems like a nice turbo but I do plan on moving up to a precision once I get a standalone instead of a piggyback.

I was agreeing with the comments regarding the CT 26 being a silly idea, and the recommendation on a 57/62 or 62/62.
it's a 57 trim, it's capable like I said. I'm running a 13.1 currently and I'd love to break into the 12s which shouldn't be too difficult

I've seen a handful of people do it but if you're stepping up to a 2jz why keep an old ct26 around?
Because it was on the car when I purchased it and I found it very odd. That's kind of the reason for this thread. I own veedubin's old supra, he was a regular here for some time

OP, I am confused. CT26 on a 7M odd, not so much. CT26 on a 2j yes, that would be odd.

We live in america and you can do what you want. Good luck with project.

I wouldn't call her such a project but yes I have a 57 trim ct26 on my 2jz, its very odd. Anyone have a rough estimate on what its capable of with a 2jz?

Just put it on the dyno and find out...its a weird combo so not gonna be too much data for people reference. We can all throw out numbers but dyno is the only way to really know.

450 is my guess
