Wratcheting swivel head wrenches. Buy some.

Also, this sounds bad, but I've used bedroom lube to grease up my arms so I can get them further down there. AND I've recruited the 12 year old kid from next door who has skinny little arms for some bits that I just can't get to.

I found removing obstructions, like completely removing the lower turbo support brace and the turbo hose to the intercooler, helps free up some space to get to the 12mm bolts. Good luck.

Actually, it's a pretty safe answer.

Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, an oldtimer from the Freightliner factory gave me this tip. Sex lubes are usually water based, so they don't react with condom material - which means they also don't react poorly with engine hoses, and as an added bonus, they dissolve in water. They used it for all the hoses on the rigs, makes assembly much easier.

Shortly after hearing about this, I started keeping a bottle in the garage for working on my own engines. It looks pretty damn disgusting, because it's all covered in black grease and dirt. I also use it to scare the young punks when they come visit.

However, the garage product and the bedroom product never mix.

Grimjack's posts are full of win!

Try to get as much stuff out of the way, long extensions with a swivel socket is the trick, can usually get them from the bottom if everything is out of the way

well to help me out when i removed a turbo off a 7m acouple times and reinstalled is that if u put some kinda of thick lube(no pun intended) on the oil feed and throw the gasket on, it should stick and Bam no more copper washer falling everywhere

I also did the same kinda thing, sticking the washer on with a sticky agent. As for the return yeah you pretty much just gotta work it, my arms aren't too big so I just went from the top with a 6" extension and deep or shallow socket, wasn't too bad for me the few times I swapped

If your not using the Power steering no it doesn't need it obviously. But block both the ports off on the Accordion hose and on the valve with a block off nipple
