just got my ct26 60-1 back from precision turbo (new seals and bearings)... running 16psi but it creeps to 18psi - we'll see how long it lasts...it had previously had about 12-15k and had run up to 20+psi per the previous owner...

ok but lets talk a little about hot air, at what psi does it start to put too much hot air in the intake? cuz hotter= less hps per psi so when the efficency start to go really down?

my goal is around 500 hps

currently have:

lexus afm
topline .020 over pistons/rings
nippon racing valves/springs etc..
walbro 255,automotive afpr
fluydine rad+ flex-a-lite fans
clevite 77 bearings
new stock rods
megamouth 3inch exhaust straight pipe (only a tailpipe)
ct-26 60-1 upgraded (5000km on it)
engine was rebuilt 15000km ago

upcomming mods in about 1 month: (everyting is on the way to home)
spearco replica ic+alu piping 2.5 in
550 injectors
wideband o2 sensor+gauge
boost controller
Hks Fcd

you wont hit 500hp on a ct-26 on boost alone.

you could try with some serious water/meth injection to help cool the incoming air.

FTFY, Spray FTW.

If you're looking for 500 crank, you could easily do that with a 60-1 CT upgrade. Wheel horsepower, not without nitrous.

FTFY? thats a new one... lol

i've never seen a dyno graph of 500hp at the crank with a 60-1....

youre currently running a lex afm with stock injectors and an upgraded turbo with no tuning and no wideband? sounds like youre asking for trouble.

Awhile back on SF someone(possibly Bishop92t) researched that while dynoing and I have no clue the result (maybe 21-22psi). You might find the thread if you search SF around '02-'04.

no way to get accurate crank HP without running it on a engine dyno...

so I'd assume that's wheel since people have done mid 400's on a 57trim...

kinda what i figured, but i always like to ask.

and thats a lot of power for those little rubber pipes... haha

the other thing thats so weird is that according to the turbo builders on here, is the 60-1's dont last very long due to the heavy wheel... but could it be that people are just not running them at high enough boost? sounds kinda silly, but, all of these guys are at 18psi+! and for over 2 years!!(some of them at least)

They don't last a long time because they're stuffed into a smaller housing causing nasty compressor surge.

The CT26's shaft is actually larger than a T04's...

i god an real real old version of safc (5 points tuning) only at like 70% thorttle... so i run lean at idle but and ecu compensate at 10-70% thortle then.. i run rich XD

for meth injection.. it desent kinda wear the engine a lot like n2o?

i rhink ima go with 18 psi, should be what..440-450 whp? (with my other mods and fine-tuned on dyno)

water/meth injects the combo into the air stream usually near the throttle bobdy, the water cools the air, and the meth is like high octane gas.

a local srt4 guy said he was able to get 6psi more of boost from running 99% meth.

sweet... it wont hurt the engine by any way?.. i dont think since its juste air cooler//octane booster. but still with water/meth i must stay @ 18psi max or i can go to a little more?

only way to really tell would be your EGT's and A/F readings, which if your going to run 18psi you should have a wideband at least...

and my friend was doing 22psi with water meth injection coming on at 16, and his pistons were shiny and looked brand new whenever you would look at them through the spark plug hole. water meth is a GREAT thing... but you just have to make sure that if you run out, you dont boost it over the threshold of the selonoid that you have in there.
