Jegs.com has mild steel mandrel bent piping for pretty cheap. Like $20 for a 3'' 90 degree with one foot legs on both sides. It'll probably be even cheaper for 2.5''.

But, DON'T use crushed bent piping for intercooler piping. Hell don't use it for anything.

Some of you guys swear by using stainless steel as IC piping here or at least half SS and half aluminum. Saying how SS doesn't soak up heat as quickly as aluminum would and how the engine bay temps wouldn't cause the SS to get hot enough. I believe your claims and theories. Now, I'm just wondering why custom intercooler shops use all aluminum piping and why most IC kits out there are all aluminum?

Buying proper IC pipes is one of the best investments i made.

They are made not to pop apart if there is a leak and just fit better. No micky mouse bs.

Just order 2.5" aluminum mandrel bend kits from ebay.
You could buy some for $100 or less shipped. The tubes even have the ends bead rolled too.

Worked for my supra.

Cheers,
Roy

it's far lighter, and easier to bend

ceramic coating the pipes will keep the heat away as well
