So I'm thinking of doing away with my stock gauge cluster and running independent gauges for everything. My question is will doing away with my cluster affect my cruise control? I kinda enjoy using it and don't wanna do away with it.

Yes, the SPD signal that is used by the cruise control computer comes from inside the speedometer. So if you do away with it you have to find another way of generating that pulsed signal.
