holy shit...thats big (and no i dont want to hear any "thats what she said" jokes) well think of it like this, maybe he was giving it a kiss as he was going to put it back and he happend to trip on something in the water he couldnt see...and then he fell on the stinger. possibly.

Yes, it's sounds highly probable that if a large stingray's barb, were to pierce your chest (near your heart) that could be fatal. The news said instantaneous death. I doubt that was the case, but it was probably quick. Either way, sad indeed.
Big difference fucking around for the camera with a big fat well fed possibly drugged animal in a caged environment and going into the wild and trying it with something that will kill you if you annoy it!

Awhile ago I reead something that said there have only been 3 stingray related deaths in Australia ever.
So he kinda hit the lottery on ways to go.

All in all not really a bad way to die. Would have been much more tragic had he been shot by a car jacker. I pray to g.d that when I die it is doing something that I love .Whether it was for "real" or just a show he was passionate about his work .How many of you can say that you put your life on the line for your passion ? I don't, I sit on my ass and type replys to people that I most likely will never meet. Work in a shitty 9 to 5 job that I hate. So cheers to you Steve for having a dream and living a life .
