Crazy problems after GTE swap.. Coolant/Gas in Oil..

So, I got the car to start, and completed all the wiring troubles I had..

Car has mhg, arp head studs torqued to 80 ft/lbs, new oem pistons, and brand new bottom end bearings. Redid the exhaust for a 3" downpipe, and had to weld in the back 02 sensor...

Now..


1. I had the block decked for mhg, and had the bottom end rebuilt.
2. When the car runs, it smokes white(ish, smells like unburnt fuel) out of the exhaust badly.
3. I drained the oil, and it had water (a lot) and smelled like gas in it.
4. Seems there is gas on top of all the pistons..

The head was "in great shape" or so the guy that sold it to me said..
The turbo has VERY little shaft play..

Can all of these problems be a cracked head, bad turbo seals?

I'm sort of clueless at this point, I know this seems like a bhg, but I can't see a bhg being the problem since it's all brand new and set up for mhg..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

well.. that's the thing lol.. I took a guys word instead of just getting it done.. I was in kind of a hurry to get this motor put together..

That surface of the head, without a clean shave, will cause these symptoms right? What about the fuel though?

Yeah it was cut too.. First thing I thought of lol..

Can bad turbo seals cause this? I read that a few people had bad seals and the coolant went straight down through the turbo drain line into the block.. wasn't a ct26 but.. just wondering?

I think your looking at 2 (or more) problems here.
Fuel could be a blown diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator.
It will then send raw fuel directly into the intake manifold through the vacuum line.
Or you have some stuck injectors that are spraying constantly, not just when they get a pulse from the ECU.

Coolant is another problem entirely.
Something didn't go together right (that is why you should never rush assembling an engine, especially a 7M).
Or ...........?

Bottom line, you are probably have to go back into it.

yeah I'm gonna pull the head off, and I have like 4 other heads, i'll just send one to the machine shop and get it done, that way i know it's right.. other than that.. rushing a 7m is a bad move, I now realize that lol

If it's the diaphragm in the fpr, that vac line will have fuel in it yes? and the injectors, no way to check that is there? Noid light would only show when they were "supposed" to be spraying right?

Can't be the turbo. Any CT unit that's in bad enough shape to let coolant into the oil would be extremely obvious, and entirely unworkable. As in, wouldn't spin at all, and would likely be spraying coolant and oil all over the engine bay.

Yes, the vacuum line from the FPR would be full of fuel, so that's easy to check.

Injectors aren't that tough to check either, pull 'em out and have a shop flow them.
