This is probably the best advice in the thread so far.mecevans;1874451 said:Whether or not it's totaled is usually up to how hard the adjuster thinks he can screw you. They will play the "It's not worth anything because it's so old" deal. I had a progressive agent tell me my car was only worth 500 dollars. Don't settle for anything less than you deserve.
Nothing wrong with something like that as a second car, but I find that most people buying them really couldn't care less about driving. A car is a tool to most people to get from point A to point B.stew_7mgte;1874639 said:Whats with everyone talking down kia? I daily an 05 spectra, paid $5k for it with 80k miles. I get nearly 40mpg in it and has never failed me once.

At first the insurance company offered me $2450.00 for the car then we sent over my receipts and the bumped it up to $5750.00
I can buy the car back for 1000.00 and still get a check for 4750.00 but a portion of the front frame is crumpled and requires a new piece to be welded in. This process requires removal of the engine in order to weld in this piece also I would have to locate this piece. I want to keep this car as it is my baby but its time to move on.
So I will be taking the 5750.00 to put towards a new car but sadly this will be me stepping out of the Supra game for a while. I will always love these cars and will defiantly own one again someday. It is just not in the cards for me at this time. I appreciate all of you who have helped me out through the few years I have been on here. Hopefully talk to you guys again soon.
