crank pully wobbling

Did an oil change today and letting it warm up with the hood open it looked like my crank pully was wobbling and I think was hearing some knocking not sure tho. Is this common. Kinda worried i dont want rod knock or crank walk. help

This will destroy your crankshaft, if it is not already there. Either tighten it to 195 Ft-Lb, or be damn sure it is not wobbling before driving it any more!

It's possible that you got a grease mark on it, or something that gave you the impression it was wobbling.

Pull off the belts and see if the pulley is actually loose. If it is, you've got a big PITA job in front of you. Chances are the crank snout has been mangled, the keyway will be destroyed, and likely the crank pulley will be toast as well.

The only way to fix this is pulling the engine and either repairing or replacing the crank and pulley.

If it was loose, pull it off and check the key way before just tightening it down. Get a new key if the key way is still OK, and a new pulley bolt if possible, then torque to 195 ft lbs. If left like that it can/will destroy your crank like stated if it hasn't already! Also check the keyway in the pulley itself when you remove it, if its damaged don't use the pulley over again

I say this from personal experience; I had a crank come loose like that, and when it does- it sounds just like rod knock.
One wall of the woodruff keyway was all worn down, and the key itself was all boogered up.
However, I was able to get away with what I consider a very easy repair(compared to pulling the crank out).
I removed the pulley, the rad and anything else that was in my way. Then used a MIG welder to build up the deformed/worn
wall of the keyway. Then used a die grinder to re-cut the wall to a nice vertical. Put in a new key, and never had a problem again.
This however, is just my one experience. your mileage may vary.
