If you had a breaker bar, or some kind of pipe you can slide over your ratchet, you could brace it against the ground/floor and bump your starter over to get the bolt loose.

no i broke the bar today, so now i have a ratchet and i took my car off the ramps, and i have 2 2by 4 bords that are going with wise across the front of the car and i put the ramps under the crank to support the wood. i already broke one ratchet today and going to try another tomarrow. what other sizes fit the crank bolt?????

I don't understand what you are doing.
And what do you mean by other sizes?

like what is the same as a 3/4th socket. I am having to use a tiny racket and it is not working i broke it. I have a large racket and but none of my sockets fit the rachet head. i have wood on ramps under my car trying to provide ground so the rachet will not turn when i bump the starter to break loose the pully bolt. so far no luck and i dont know what to do next i dont want to break all my ratchets and i dont have any more pipe

you really should be using a 19mm socket on a 1/2" drive breaker bar. I broke a ratchet trying to use 3/8"

From all I have heard here, I must question if you have a puller to get the pulley off, or will you just use a hammer?

Mine slid off easy, i just pulled.

If your car is a 5=spd just put the car in gear. Mine was an auto so i just grabbed the outer ring of the pulley with a 48" pipe wrench and used a cheater bar lol. I bought a new one anyways, so i didn't care.

If it just slid off, you have issues...

How so? They slide for the most part back on and most import cars they can just be wiggled off. IF its rattling loose yes.

You NEED a 1/2" 19mm socket and a 1/2" breaker bar. Its torqued to 198ft lbs. It shouldnt come loose easy.
