Will the 2J crank Pulley fit the 1J? Also, is the pulley & the HB a two piece design? Can I use an aftermarket pulley & keep the stock HB or are they a combo setup like the 7M's?

So, what's considered the perminant fix for the crank pulley that fail? Buy a new stock harmonic balancer or an aftermarket crank pulley? I'm concerned about the effects of running an undampened pulley will have on the main bearings....

I'm in the same situation rakkasan. I bought a 2JZ crank pulley, and have wondered the same. I see that HPF have some for sale, $400~. Harmonic Balancers that is.

I thought the HB was behind the crank pulley on teh 1JZ? I haven't taken mine off yet.

I thought it was a 2 piece set up, but apparently it isn't. I'm looking at the boost logic HB.....

shoulda quoted i guess, I'm not running one.. on the stock one until it seperates.. haha

but get a quality unit, not a generic off ebay.. Like BL or titan.... they are pricey though (~400-500 i think)

I won't do it. HB's serve a purpose; it has to be there.

I've been to Lakeland's track once or twice, so not that often...

Hey mark,

There are alot of 2j guys running around with the boost logic crank pulley and I haven't once heard of any problems. It is a very nice peice but I'm not sure its worth the 400 bucks it cost for little or no gains. Of course it will NEVER break again but its certinally money i would have rather spent elsewhere.

If you are worried about this part breaking you should be able to pick up another stock one pretty easily :)

btw, the lakeland track closed down.

how much is the stock pulley? Isn't the BL a couple pounds lighter and a new stock is like 300 so an extra 100 for a couple pounds and no chance of breaking is worth it if yours has seperated.. but thats my opinion..

I think it's a few pounds lighter than stock, and since it's coupled to the rotating assembly, quicker revs.

Get the boost logic pulley. Expensive as balls, but worth it. My biggest fear is my crank pulley separating at high rpms and putting a hole through my Koyo..
