crank pulley differences through the years

Was there a difference in crank pully(harmonic dampeners) throughout the years? I bought one from a member on this board and it is different from the one currently on my engine - this new one has an insert "inside" the bore of the belt grooves where as the old one was hollow (like most i've seen). EPC gives only 1 part number for all years...so that was no help.

any input is appreciated.

Are you talking about the rubber piece that is in it? I have never had a problem with changing out balancers. And I have used a 92 on an 88... I don't think there is any difference. Have you put it on? Does it fit?

I just used one off of a 88 N/A on a 91 motor.. I had it all balanced.. There weren't any fitment issues though.

Out of the couple i have seen, the Ones with the insert in the center are usually off 7MGE Cressida's

Yep seen the added weight on Cressida 7M's here as well.

Probably a NVH feature.

I have a different pulley from different years. one has a _|-|_|-|_ pattern and the other doesn't. Otherwise, they seem the same.
