just pull the oilpan off and jam a 2x4 between the crank counter balance and the inside block wall....then use a pipe over a wrench to break the bolt loose...real easy stuff.

what do you guys think of this method?

Yes. Put breaker bar on, lay it on the ground (drivers side) and bump the starter.. Should bust it loose fairly easy.

it cool, it came off, thanks, never did it in the first place cause of how it spins counter clock wise i thought i would snap the bolt by trying to use the starter, most of my 4 banger cars like my starlet turbo motor and corollas are clock wise and came off easy.

Confused on your method here, but good info on the pulley holder.

What I meant is that it would be easier to break the bolt free using the pulley holder out of the vehicle because there is more room. However, when I did used the holder on my engine when it was in car, I braced a breaker bar against the frame of the vehicle to stop it from moving counterclockwise (in direction that I was pulling to break the bolt free)
