so for christmas this year i got myself a blox shiftknob because my stock one was kind of, well, falling apart. after 'installing' it i had that fat ol' gap between the top of the boot and the bottom of the shiftknob. ive seen it in peoples pictures n all and for some reason it irks me. SO! i came up with a solution. all you need is a 12mm washer
)usually with an after market knob theres this gap(the gap being from the nut up top to the boot)
)this is where the washer will sit holding the boot up
)i managed to just push the washer through the hole at the top of the boot to get it in
)with the washer pushed under the boot and on the shifter, the nut and shifter on the gap is goneskees
