Cracks in the turbo...too much?

Heya everyone -

I just recently had my CT-26 re-rebuilt, along with the head, and engine, and I've still got an oil burn. I pulled off my turbo to take pictures of the oil building up on the exhaust wheel, and I noticed a few cracks in the turbo exhaust housing. I've never seen any sort of crack in a turbo before and I'm not sure what's in the limits of "acceptable" or not.

If I've got an oil burn, the engine has been professionally rebuilt, both bottom end and head, and this turbo has been rebuilt before, would it be safe to assume that it is the turbo at fault causing me to burn oil?

Here are the pics!

You might want to look into a catch can for the pcv and see if that helps your oil burning. The small cracks around your wastegate are pretty common on these turbos, but the one large crack that curves around the inside of the snail isn't good. I recieved a rebuilt turbo once that had a large crack like that and I sent it back, the guy replaced it with another housing because he admitted it wasn't good.

I've been trying to avoid getting a catch-can and other PCV mods, but I may break down and do so. It has stock PCV right now and the engine has no more than a couple hundred miles on it, just rebuilt. I'd think there shouldn't be a reason for there to be any blow-by...
