Ok well i bought a sc300 with a 1jz swap in it and well there is a coolant leak at the back of the cylinder head that i thought was the turbo coolant piping but turns out to be the nipple on the back of the head that cools the whole engine, talk about upset because someone tried to put jb weld on it i guess as a quick fix!. now i can either get a new head or try and see if a machine shop can repair it just not sure what options i have or whats the best in the long run, when it comes to cracks in the cylinder head is it best to just scrap it and get another? how easy are they to come by? and what do they usually cost? pics of the car can be found here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-400-300/662850-my-jade-green-1jz-sc300-aka-princess-jade.html

It really depends.. at my friends shop, we used to have a guy that would come by all the time to use the TIG to fix cracked heads and other stuff, and generally it worked out just fine. either way, you need to remove it and have someone that knows what's up look at it.

I'd probably just get a new head because they are usually easy to find and not that expensive.

If It is the return line for the heater core as it looks in that picture you should be able to weld that up. Either way you need to pull the head or entire motor
