I have my CPS removed and replaced (I didn't mark before I remove the CPS.) My car ran very differently afterwards. There was no power at all. And then it shut down itself on highway. I looked up the Chilton book and re-did everything according to the book. Timing mark is back to TDC, drilled hole of the cps is at the mark. But the engine still won't start. Anyone has any experience about this, please tell me what kinda problem I have now. Thank you!

Check for codes. If you have any, fix them before setting your timing.
Timing should be set at 10 BTDC. Make sure the cam lobe under the oil cap is pointing up. Align the marks on each cam gear on the plate behind them. Set the crank pulley on 0 degrees on the compression stroke. If you don't know what stroke the engine is on, remove spark plug number 1, put a chop stick or long screw driver, turn the pulley, when the screwdriver comes up and has a pause before going back down, then line it up properly to 0 degrees. Then insert the CPS, turn it back a little because when you insert the CPS in the head, it will move foward a little. Keep doing it until both points line up(the piece on the spinning gear and the piece on the CPS housing).
Anyone, feel free to correct me if I made a mistake there.

try searching on here for images of how it should look when properly installed, its kinda tricky especially being that you cant see the match marks on the gear. I had that issue to and if i recall the chilton does not give the correct install procedure, try this also

Very helpful, thank guys. Another question though, can I use the 88 CPS on the 92 after I swap the wiring harness? Red go with red, blue go with blue, brown go with brown and white go with black right?
For some reasons I always think it is kinda weird with that match up. Do you know which one connects to which one? Thanks!
I know what is my exact problem now. My 92 Cam is dead. Then I mismatched the wiring connection with the 88 Cam, so the 88 cam is dead too. I just need a new CPS that's all. And the CPS whne it is aligned looks exactly like the one in the picture of the other thread. Many thanks guys!!!
