I searched and found some threads but would like some clarification.

I recently installed a new CPS because my old one had an intermittent connection in the wiring. When I installed the new one the first time I just pulled the old one out and put the new one in the same way. Of course...this didnt work. So today I set the car to TDC and tried again. Didnt work this time either.

So now I would like clarification that I am installing the CPS correctly.
This is the CPS with the cover off.

This is a closer, blurrier pic.

This is the shaft side of the CPS.

This is the whole that I have lining up with the notch on the CPS.

SO now, the TSRM says there is a raised section on the botton of the gear that is supposed to be lined up with the notch. I don't see this raised section. I have been using the "hole" on the gear's shaft to line up with the notch. Is this right? Can you line up the CPS correctly by having the cover removed?

Thanks

I dont think it is bent but that is pictures of the old one. The new one is in the car and I didnt want to have to take it out again today.

That's correct. The CPS as shown in the pictures is pretty much lined up for #1 TDC Compression stroke. Now is the crank lined up the same way? #1 TDC exhaust stroke will also line up the timing mark on the damper.
Follow the TSRM to find TDC.

Figured someone would have posted this by now...

This picture shows it installed...Note the signal rotor is just past the G1 pickup. If you install it where the rotor and pickup are aligned, you are off by one tooth.
