Ok so many years ago I owned an MK3, I put blood ,sweat and tears in that car only to have it destroyed shortly after
building my 7m-gte to the walls, barrier cables cut the car in half horizontally leaving a very narrow safe area inside
the car, we walked away unscathed aside from the trauma of having an air bag blow up in my face.

Ever since then I've kept a watchful eye around, looking to find another gem in that condition to
put my money and skills to work on....no such luck until now...

Posted on CL for only a few days when i called and picked up my next project car. Its a 7m-ge, but its been
rebuilt and runs great now that i have fixed all the minor issues, the paint looks ok but its i need of a major overhaul
if im going to keep this thing going.

Ill be doing some restoration work, already have a set of 90 tail lights and full 92 trim being shipped, sorry for the crappy pics my hands shake pretty bad these days.
Btw I'm Dan, I live in Milwaukee WI. I didnt create an account until I got the car running the way i wanted, but i've been watching the builds here for some time.

Oh....don't mind the license plate :p Its only there because my condo association will only allow a car in the
parking lot for 3 days with no plates or they tow it. The neighbor lady had the cops here 2 times already thinking the
car was stolen and left in our parking lot because I rarely come and go during the waking hours.

I would post the pics of the dead car, but it was an unidentifiable burnt ball of steel, only recognizable portion was the intercooler piping sticking out from where the bumper had peeled apart like a banana. The engine was sitting
on the windshield and the cables were 3/4 of the way through the firewall. The only pictures I had of the car before and after were destroyed in the basement flood at my parents house years ago. Let's put it this way, when i crashed the car it was red
when they recovered it, it was mostly black with hints of metal showing here and there. Somehow the car got between the cables so 2x crossed cables in front and 2x in the back, and we blew through 4 posts spaced 20 ft apart
before the car stopped. Cops on the scene, were amazed we walked away from the accident. At the time I was working 2 full time jobs to support my supra modding addiction, Off of work one friday night after a 3rd shift/1st shift double
went to grab a bite to eat and fell asleep @ 85mph on the freeway. Saddest night of my life.

Often wondered how things would end up running through those cables... :(
(never liked the concept of them)

I killed my Mk3 after owning it for 13 years not too long ago..

Thanks for the "answer" ;)

:( sorry to hear about your mk3....They removed the cables from 15 miles of freeway after my accident, apparently by getting in between them "impossible according to the engineer" they decided it was much more dangerous
then the standard rails.

Armco Rails do a great job but are more expensive to replace, I guess another case of penny pinching putting lives at risk.

Pointy Mk3 was ALWAYS going to get between em, lucky they were tight enough to not slide up the hood and slice the turret off the car...

I have the 92 nose, full trim and 90 tail lights, and of course the 3 piece spoiler, and i want to get on the body work and paint before
the dreaded rust monster steps in. Im painting her Intensa Blue with a light candycoat of grey or black over the top. As soon
as winter hits my rims come off and get some alterations. I haven't decided whether or not to put the bomex rears i have on, or
leave it as it sits.

I have to agree with IJ about the front. That's quite a story you have there about your previous supra. Hope you have better luck with your new one!

I'll like them better after they get a fresh powdercoat, still haven't decided what color. May keep them white with the new paint, i'll keep them that way until paint is done and see if the contrast is too much.
