If possible could someone who has a jz motor with 90 or newer mkIII please measure the distance from the center of the rubber mount bolt to the flat back surface of the block that mates with the tranny. (In my case a 1jz bellhousing with a r154)

I'm suspecting that the custom mounts I had made are not infact the correct distance for properly mounting this engine. I suspect that they are forcing the engine upagainst the firewall to far by about 1" or so.

Thanks in advance for the help.

whose mounts did you buy? are they on the right side?

also you do know that there are several bolt holes on the block right? with my aristo 2jz i had to move them back a space so it would mount in my bay correctly

i can probably take this measurement for you later today when my motor is out of the car

Thankyou soooooo much, I really appreciate this buig time.

A "friend" of a friend made them and yup I got them on the right side and in the right holes.

I just don't think things are fitting right and wanna be extra careful and double check.

Oopps, if I am not mistaken the pre 89 and post 89 mkiii had different mounts.

Not sure if the measurement in question is different or not.

But after much thinking and such I'm not gonna take any risks with this build and I'm gonna order some new ones tomorow. It'll give me an excuse to get a few other goodies since I'm ordering anyways, right? LOL

And also I am not entirely sure I could trust these mounts with the kinda power I'm shoot'in to be around.

Damn my car is getting so close to being done, and yet the snow is getting so close to hitting here, it's a race of sorts.

Thanks again.
