Could code 12 be thrown because of this

What about the timing... Im trying to check it as soon as my dad gets his ass out of the kitchen... Could I be getting code 12 because of the timing being thrown off somehow... Even tho im not sure how it would just be thrown off.

Any say?

My TCCS says code 12 is usually a poor CPS connection in G or NE signal wires to the ECU.. I would think these poor connections could also effect timing but this is just my guess.

Well im an NA so no CPS for me. im gonna try to set it now.

Does the N/A distributor send the RPM signal to the ECU or do they have a crank sensor. Does your tachometer work?

What ever it is? Code 12 is a loss of rpm signal to the ECU..

Edit: It looks like the RPM pickup is installed inside the distributor on N/A's, so check those smaller wire connections coming out of the distributor.
