my supra for some odd reason, when i warms up it sends the coolant back to the resevior and it starts to overfill and my engine gets really close to overheating. i flushed the system and washed it dry. then replace the thermostat and got a new o ring and gasket for it. refilled with new coolant and still the problem came back.. note that the resevior is shooting coolant back into the resevior, all of it. after all coolant has reached the resevior, then nothing but hot air shooting into resevior. please help.. this is all i need to fix then the car is ready to drive again..

To do this you might wanna jack the front a bit or park on a hill facing upwards. With the engine cold, remove the radiator cap. fill the radiator and the overflow bottle to the correct line. Then start the car up and let it run while keeping an eye on coolant level in the radiator and refilling it when it goes down. Sometimes, if parked on a hill, I found it usefull to bounce the front end a little too. When you stop seeing bubbles coming up from in the radiator, make sure its full, put the cap on and make sure the overflow is full. You should be done.

Are you having any other problems or symptoms though. I dont realy understand your problem

i see that youve replaced the thermostat but did you replaced the radiator cap too?

if not then have the rad cap tested or replaced and if that still doesnt work i think its time for you to buy a combustion leak tester... or at least have it tested.... if push comes to shove you may already have a blown headgasket

the symptoms you said are pretty much that of one with a sever blown headgasket but it wouldnt hurt to check everything first like the rad cap, thermostat, coolant piping and such...

also even if you burp the system with all that said it wouldnt do you any good if youre rad cap is busted

mine had that problem and next thing i knew it was a bhg, i hope youres isnt coz if youre not ready to spend then your gonna be in deep $$$hit..

good luck:naughty:

This thread bought to you by the letters B H and G .... :(

sure does sound like it.

you might consider going to napa to get one of their block test kits. its easy to use and will test for exhaust gas in the coolant i.e. blown head gasket.
last i checked they were ~$40. or you might take it to a local shop, some of them have a sniffer machine that does the same thing. but they often charge $75+ for "diagnostics"
however, if it is as bad as you describe i wouldnt want to drive the car anywhere.

good luck

With your motor cold remove the rad cap and turn the motor on. If coolant starts getting pushed out of the top of the rad like it was said in previous post welcome to BHG=BAD HEAD GASKET:nono: But B 4 u do that replace rad cap and do every other trick that was mentioned in the posts preceeding this one.

That does not mean bhg, that means air in the system which is not instantly a bhg.
If you want to confirm if you have a bhg or not do a compression test or get a block tester.

Just speaking from experience. When my HG was blown, coolant came out of rad in less than 30seconds it was damm near instant which indicated that the cylinder pressure was going pass the gasket and straight through the cooling system. No need for compression test this symptom made it obvious rather quickly. This was also after the thermostat, rad cap, water pump and rad had been replaced in that order. After replacing each part the car ran fine 4 awhile but then began displaying the same symptoms, ie. fluctuating temp guage, then OK temp guage to OH MY GOD I'M IN THE RED SHE'S GONNA BLOW temp range. However, I do agree with u JAV but sometimes u can get a fast an accurate diagnosis based on a good read of the problems. Peace luv and hairgrease.

You didn't specify a time frame in your last post so I figured I'd mention it. ;)

Yeah I know, my bad. I'm still learning to b more specific with my post so every now and then I need someone to keep me on point especially when it comes to tech advice. God knows I don't want to b the ill-adviser:icon_razz
