another day another problem. heres the story. blew the hg 3 months ago. replaced that, has the heads resurfaced and checked for cracks. every thing was ok. put in an HKS 1.2mm head gasket with ARP head studs torqued to 80 ft/lbs with moly lube. got the car back together worked fine for a week then started overheating which turned out ot be the water pump. so threw in a new one. started driving today and was just driving to make sure every things in working order and i started to steam. the wierd thing was that the car wasn't overheating just steaming from the radiator cap and from the overflow tank. im going to replace the radiator cap cuz thats probably fried by could this cause me to steam from teh overflow tank or is there another problem behind this?

If steam is coming out of the rad cap, then it's quite possible that steam can come out of the overflow also since the vacume assisted hose to the resivoir is right under the rad cap ;). Replace and report back...

well its just steaming but i can here the fluid in the overflow taknk bubbling but i think thats just becaus of the pressure difference. my main concern is that it theres a clog in the radiator but i would imigian if that were the case i would see a temputure difference

Replace the cap and report back. Also, I'd HIGHLY recommend retorquing the head if it has gotten hot at all since the MHG was installed.

yea it was the thermosta got it back in and went and dynoed it. 280hp at the wheels on a bone stock engine. i was rather suprised. has this problem happened to anyone else. replacing the HG and things all failing one after another. i mean at first it was the water pump, then teh radiator cap and thermostat
